My name is Oscar Pitura. I created this website when I was 10 years old and attending primary school. Making the OscarLetics website in 2022, I wanted to share my interests and hobbies with others and most of all to promote my first project called 'OscarLetics'. Computers, Science and Technology always fascinated me as far as I can remember. My first coding steps began, using a simple software called 'Scratch' when I was 6. My skills expanded rapidly throughout different programming languages. Constantly, I was looking for more challenging projects to undertake, following professional tutorials and advanced coding courses like from Zenva Academy. I have completed multiple courses designated for adult students far above my age. Then I decided to make my first, big project OscarLetics. Math is my favourite subject, so my aim was to create a simple, educational tool that helps children to practice their arithmetic skills. The graphics in my game were inspired by the picturesque Cumbrian surroundings where I live. Very quickly, I found out that my application met with lots of enthusiasm among teachers and pupils at my school. This gave me the confidence to try and publish OscarLetics onto the Google Play Store. Recently the app has moved onto both the Apple App Store and the Amazon App Store. I must mention as well about my dear parents and younger sister who became my games testers, supporting me on each milestone when I was working on the project.
My next steps took me through other challenges like the Harvard CS50W course, which I completed after just reaching 12 years old. In the meantime, my interest is focusing on STEM technologies and Neural Networks/Machine Learning projects. And this was a trigger for my new idea to build my first robot – A Robotic Hand that plays Rock, Paper, Scissors which I am happy to present on my website.
Recently, I have taken up playing a spaceflight simulator game called Kerbal Space Program (KSP), where I have completed many missions, some of which I uploaded onto my YouTube Channel.
Please feel welcome to take a browse through my YouTube channel, watch and explore my previous projects. It is a perfect place to show creative solutions in coding and programming.
